War on the Line

Our recent visit and participation in the fantastic 'War on the Line' event at Alton last week was a huge boost to morale for our troops and civilians alike. Passengers on trains were pleasantly surprised by our spontaneous outbursts of memorable old sing-along tunes as we travelled between stations. This amazing event is held every year and thanks to the many people who participate, and the authenticity of the railway, it is an event that captures the essence and atmosphere of life during the second world war.
